The tailoring business is a profitable endeavor one can start in Kenya with little capital. The business has been in existence for decades. If you have the skill - which our Anne does - you can sew garments or help people mend their clothes and make money.
How Much Does it Cost to Start a Tailoring Shop
We have determined that Anne can start a small sewing business with about 75,000 Ksh startup capital ($498 USD). The following is the startup capital breakdown.
Sewing machine - Ksh 40,000
Business permit - Ksh 5,000
Ironing board - Ksh 5,000
Materials & Supplies - Ksh 15,000
Electricity - 10,000
To continue our mission of transforming lives in Amboseli, we are asking your help to raise this $498 for Anne Reya - our ACF Coordinator of the primary students.
In turn, she pledges to "pay it forward" by teaching other local Maasai women the skills needed to do the same. Please consider helping us - any amount is appreciated!
